In November 2015, ICSB Executive Director Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy visited the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt, Germany’s oldest public policy school.
Their Master of Public Policy is a two-year graduate program that combines elements of various social sciences and applies them to the practices of governments, administrations, and nonprofit organizations. This innovative program is directed by Dr. Heike Grimm.
Discussions to expand collaboration between Brandt School and ICSB are underway, and we hope to provide updates in due course. In the mean time, below is a copy of the recent news posted on the Brandt School’s website.
The Brandt School had the pleasure to welcome Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy, Associate Teaching Professor of Management at the George Washington University’s School of Business, who joined the “Leadership and Political Advocacy” class to prepare the 2nd cohort of students for future leadership positions. The award winning author and teacher who has just been awarded the Most Outstanding faculty voted by students again, focused on leadership styles and concepts of political advocacy. Students also received individual feedback regarding their personal skills. As one of the students remarked: “Dr. Tarabishy took up a creative, out-of-the-box, and hands-on teaching style inspiring us to not only reflect on how we think as leaders but also on how we can adapt our leadership to situations. The key message was that a leader is not born but made, through learning and reflecting on experiences.” Dr. El Tarabishy is also the Executive Director of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), the oldest and largest non-profit organization across the globe devoted to advancing small business research and practices. The Brandt School will collaborate with ICSB more closely in the future, e.g. by joining the ICSB Academy, hosted in conjunction with the 61st Annual ICSB World Conference in New Jersey (USA), in 2016.
